I've been married seven years and dated my wife four years before that. We see eye-to-eye on big issues, but I think the biggest source of success for us is feeling and especially expressing gratitude for one another on a regular basis, and being willing to compromise.

You're right that we're seeing a swing from one extreme to the other, and I hope that society can settle down somewhere in the middle where men and women recognize the value each brings to the other, and people maybe learn to curb their expectations a little. We've been promised the universe (the promises get bigger with time it seems), and that makes real life seem a bit of a letdown in comparison.
