Completely agree. I am glad I grew up white. My parents are both as white as snow and they don't have any kind of clique-ish "my culture is better than yours" crap that so many non-white "communities" tend to have. If I had a dollar for every miserable, gag-worthy feminist novel about non-white Americans marinating in a stew of aggrandizement and resentment of their ethnicity, I would be a gazillionaire. Call it the Joy Luck Club effect: when the only thing that makes you interesting is being born a certain race, you cling to it like white on rice.
