I still wonder about people turning to Islam. Yesterday I attended a work meeting relating to Islam and charitable giving (zakat) and I could easily see how the especially woke PMC's I know could be super into it. Zakat is a concept of purifying your wealth. Those eligible to receive include:

-those in need, the destitute, stranded travelers (like immigrants and refugees), to free slaves

Islam has the appeal of being foreign, exotic, and less "American" than Christianity; has historical ties to African American communities; feels somewhat forbidden... On the other hand, many of the social justice PMC's around me are Jewish. I wonder if they would retreat into their own faith. Maybe become Orthodox?
