Wow, creepy! Yet I believe them even if "the Science" does not. Considering there are ample tales of people being spirited away either never to return or to report that they had a whole lifetime with a fairy spouse and offspring, it points to their experiences happening where fairies live, a.k.a. the astral plane. As far as the lady getting murdered night after night, ay yi yi, hopefully she resolved a good chunk of whatever karma needed to be worked off.

Also not a fan of tattoos -- pain isn't my pleasure -- but I can see doing that too, one on the front and one on the back.
